This story of a 1950's pin-up girl begins in 1930's rural Tennessee and follows the title character, played by Gretchen Mol, to New York City. There she meets the photographers who help create her highly sucessessful iconic and scandelous image. The very image that later causes her to be the target of a Senate investigation. Textures and surfaces were extremely important in selecting elements of the sets as the film was shot predominantly in black and white.
